In our age of technological wizardry and global connectivity, there remain fewer and fewer equivalents to the "village green" of yore. Presentation Night provides an environment where peers can educate themselves freely and with immediacy. Had it with the talking parrots on TV? Tired of your stuffy professors? Want to learn more about your friends and community? Just need a break from the weather? Then come to Presentation Night on Saturday, February 7th and enjoy a variety of presentations, food, and drink. Better yet, give your own presentation on any topic you want!
It's simple. Everyone shows up and takes their turn giving a brief presentation to rest of the audience. Everyone is encouraged (but not required) to give their own presentation.
Hosted by Marc Flury, this will be the first ever Presentation Night in Cambridge. The concept was created by Matthew Barthelemy, Minnesota's own Prodigal Son and Minneapolis' celebrated Man About Town. Read up on the history of this groundbreaking event on the official Presentation Night Facebook Group.
All you need is a topic, the goal is to let as many people present as possible! Here are some examples to get you thinking, but you're encouraged to come up with your own. Ideal length is between 5 and 15 minutes.
Proposal submission is currently closed. Check this site for details on the next Presentation Night.
Presentation Night is made possible though the generosity of Brad, Leeanne, Sean, and Chris at 55 Norfolk. Check out their site and the other excellent upcoming events.
